I'm considering doing an Airbnb in our basement to bring in a little extra. Only problem is that there is only a half bath down there. We could allow them to use the showers upstairs. I've also considered putting in a shower (it would be in the laundry room right next to the half bath). We'll probably have a kid's bedroom down there in 5+ years, and their own shower would be nice. It would be mostly for game weekends at the local college.
We also have a huge backyard (2.5 acres) with a nice camping area. So I've thought of renting out the campsite with access to the basement bathroom at any time and showers upstairs if needed. I could even get one of those canvas yurt tents and provide air mattresses and bedding.
Has anyone done something like this? Any thoughts and experiences?
